KATALYST 'Handkerchief' Top in Newspaper

The Handkerchief Top is a celebration of Kate’s textile-focused design
process and playful manipulation of shapes. Derived from two simple
squares of fabric and undulating lines of elastic, this top moulds to the body
whilst simultaneously reacting against it to create a unique silhouette.

This variation on the KATALYST favourite is made from a fine deadstock silk
cotton voile - a smooth and lightweight cloth with varying stripes of black,
musk stick pink and sky blue woven into a check on the white base. A
pattern reminiscent of corporate business shirts, the Handkerchief Top
recontexualises this into a warped and more abstract version of itself.
The pink, white, blue and black fibres form a fringe at the selvedge, a detail
showcased at the armhole of the top.

As a versatile, lightweight top it’s comfortable to wear in the summer or can
be layered over a skivvy for cooler temperatures. It can be worn with either
side at the front.

Made from short end deadstock fabric - Made in Meanjin (Brisbane).
