The Handkerchief Top is a celebration of Kate’s textile-focused designprocess and playful manipulation of shapes. Derived from two simplesquares of fabric and undulating lines of elastic, this top moulds to the bodywhilst simultaneously reacting against it to create a unique silhouette.
This variation on the KATALYST favourite is made from a fine deadstock silkcotton voile - a smooth and lightweight cloth with varying stripes of black, musk stick pink and sky blue woven into a check on the white base. Apattern reminiscent of corporate business shirts, the Handkerchief Toprecontexualises this into a warped and more abstract version of itself. The pink, white, blue and black fibres form a fringe at the selvedge, a detailshowcased at the armhole of the top.
As a versatile, lightweight top it’s comfortable to wear in the summer or canbe layered over a skivvy for cooler temperatures. It can be worn with eitherside at the front.
Made from short end deadstock fabric - Made in Meanjin (Brisbane).
